Kim Brody Nutrition ("the practice") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), South Africa. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What information we collect

• Contact information — your name, phone number and email address, used to communicate with you about appointments and your care.
• Health information — information you share during consultations (medical history, dietary habits, body composition measurements and test results), used solely to provide dietetic care. As health information, this is treated as special personal information under POPIA and handled with additional care.
• Booking information — appointment bookings are processed through BookEm, whose own privacy terms apply to that process.

Your personalised plan

• Plans are shared via an anonymous reference link — your name does not appear in the link or in the plan itself.
• Any goal-tracking progress in your plan is saved only on your own device (in your browser). It is not transmitted to the practice or any third party.
• You may request that your plan be taken down at any time.

How your information is used and shared

• Your information is used only for providing dietetic services, communicating with you, and maintaining clinical records as required by the HPCSA.
• We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing.
• In certain clinical circumstances your case may be discussed with a colleague or referring practitioner — only with your consent or where clinically necessary.
• Receipts can be provided for medical aid claims at your request.

Your rights under POPIA

• You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• You may request correction or deletion of your information, subject to clinical record-keeping requirements.
• You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting the practice.
• You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
